Fun facts about Devon from Deadly Intent

Last newsletter I wrote about my heroine Naomi from Deadly Intent, so in this newsletter, I’ll mention the hero, Devon.

Devon is 35. His personality isn’t anyone I know, but his job is borrowed from the orthopedic surgeon who repaired my ACL (twice). Dr. King is the official orthopedic surgeon for the Oakland Raiders. He’s totally nice.

Devon has a good heart, and he's very successful in his business as an orthopedic surgeon, but he has a very hard father. His father's personality and the pressures he put on his son has made Devon rein in his emotions. He is close to his warm, fun sister, and she is the reason he goes to the Joy Luck Life spa to see his ex-wife—to retrieve his mother's Tiffany necklace so his sister can wear it for her wedding. Of course, things go awry when his ex-wife kind of sort of DIES at the spa ...

I pictured Devon Knightley to look like Alex O'Loughlin from the (sadly, cancelled) TV show Moonlight. (Don’t judge me! I thought his character was so tortured and sexy!)

Bonus random trivia! If Devon went to an ice cream shop, he’d pick Mint Chocolate Chip, because it’s not too sweet and it’s refreshing. He’s a chocolate lover, but he’s not very adventurous and doesn’t like things too sweet.

Year of the Dog serial novel, chapter 22

Each month on my blog, I’m posting a new chapter of a Christian Humorous Romantic Suspense serial novel titled Year of the Dog. It’s set in Hawaii and is a (second) prequel to my Warubozu Spa Chronicles series.

What’s Up with Camy

My Camille Elliot website went down last week, which was stressful, but I got to post a cute photo on social media. You can check out my Camille Elliot newsletter to see it.

I admit I made an impulse buy last week.

Isn’t it cute??? And it’s PINK!!!

The reason I bought it is because when I was growing up, my favorite food was ramen. Specifically, chicken flavored Sapporo Ichiban Ramen. Even though it’s a packaged, instant meal that’s really bad for you, I just loved it.

If you’ve only ever had Top Ramen and never tried Sapporo Ichiban Ramen, do give it a shot. Nowadays, my mom really likes Momosan Ramen (tonkotsu flavor), which is made by Sapporo Ichiban in collaboration with Iron Chef Morimoto. Sadly, I haven’t tried it since I can’t eat regular ramen anymore because of my IBS.

Anyway, recently I discovered some powdered garlic and powdered onion that I can eat because it’s been processed specifically for people with IBS. So I decided to try making my own instant ramen soup base.

I had to substitute nutritional yeast flakes for the powdered dried mushrooms, so it doesn’t quite have the same depth of flavor, but it has the same mouthfeel. And I made it with rice noodles instead of regular ramen noodles.

And of course I had to eat it in this adorable Hello Kitty bowl (that’s PINK, in case you haven’t noticed).

It didn’t taste too bad. I think it tasted better because I was eating it in my PINK Hello Kitty bowl with my cute PINK chopsticks.

Do you like ramen?

My IBS has been bothering me a bit lately and I really don’t know what I ate to cause it. Please pray that the symptoms pass soon so I can keep working on my manuscript, Sushi and Suspicions. It’s due April 1st, and it’ll release in the multi-author romantic suspense box set, Summer Suspicions in June. (Click here to preorder Summer Suspicions for only 99 cents!)

I also want to pray for you! The best way for you to keep me updated on your prayer requests is to friend me on the YouVersion Bible app. When you create a prayer request, be sure to share it with me and I’ll pray for you when I use the app every morning. You can also reply to this email or you can anonymously fill out my Prayer Request form.

That’s it for this newsletter! Happy reading!

Lady Wynwood’s Spies volumes 2, 4, and 6 on sale on Camy’s website With my Kickstarter coming up, I need to temporarily unenroll all my Lady Wynwood’s Spies books from KU in order to offer them in the Kickstarter. The problem is that the end of each book’s 90-day cycle is scattered over a two month period, just because of the unorganized way I picked a release date for each of them. :P So, to roughly correspond with the dates they got out of KU, three of the Lady Wynwood’s Spies books are on...
